Two years ago, following the Beat Down Felt The World Over, Rihanna’s daddy was the first person in her family to talk to the media. She didn’t like it too much.Then he got sh*t-faced on a tour bus, and somebody cut somebody off… still not sure who.

But this Christmas, Rih Rih made time in between frolicking on the beach and Jet Skiing with jewelry on to make up with her daddy. And what does he do??

The singer, 22, who scored a triple whammy with three songs in the Top 10 this week, plus a No1 album, was reconciled with dad Ronald over Christmas when she visited her homeland of Barbados.

She even took him along when she met Simon Cowell.

Ronald, 57, tells me: “I saw her twice before Christmas and she came to see me on Christmas Day. She showered me with gifts, a lot of stuff, many shirts and cologne. She’s always really generous.”

The pair fell out after Ronald joined her on tour and “acted a mess”, as she puts it, before a gig in Chicago two years back.

“We did have a disagreement about the drinking on the tour,” he admits. “I got plastered on the tour bus. I can drink rum or beer but vodka does not like me – or gin.

“She blasted me for that – she was always lippy from her small days. I was picked up from the hotel in the morning and I was just shuttled to the airport.”
